Update on HR-4969 co-sponsorships

8/15/2014

Here are a few new points concerning HR-4969.  Be sure to also read the page on ARRL.org –
http://www.arrl.org/hr-4969

If there are further updates on 4969, I will put them on this Dakota Division News page--
http://www.arrldakota.org/dakota-division-news

If you do send an e-mail to your representative, please also send a copy to Dan Henderson at ARRL Headquarters (n1nd@arrl.org).  When you do that, your letter will be printed out, and then a hard copy will be delivered to your representative’s Washington office.   Not only does this ensure that your letter gets there, but hand delivery gives us one more chance for a face-to-face dialog.

If you are able to meet with your representative personally, there is a new “leave behind” document that is a single page and much more focused than the Key Talking Points currently on the HR-4969 page.  The new leave-behind should be posted on ARRL.org soon, but if you need a copy sooner, please send me a note and I will e-mail you a copy of this new one-page PDF.

How to get notified of updates to this site

8/13/2014

If you'd like to monitor this page, but don't want to use a feed reader and RSS feeds, try-- http://www.changedetection.com/
On this site, you can set up monitoring for any page you'd like on the web.  When the page changes (as when new content is added), you will receive an e-mail notifying you of the fact.  The service is available without charge.   I've used this for several years and found it simple to set up, as well as reliable.

Free webinar on H.R. 4969--Amateur Radio Parity Act

8/8/2014

The Atlantic Division is sponsoring a webinar on HR 4969 on Wednesday
evening, August 13 at 9pm through 10:30pm (EDT--8-9:30 Central time)

ARRL General Counsel Chris Imlay and Hudson Division Director Mike
Lisenco will be the presenters for this session.

There are 1,000 seats available, and the Atlantic Division has kindly
offered this opportunity to other Divisions, as well.

Here is the description of the webinar--
In June, 2014 with Congressman Adam Kinzinger (IL-16) as the sponsor
and Congressman Joe Courtney (CT-2) as co-sponsor, HR 4969 - the
"Amateur Radio Parity Act of 2014" - was introduced into the 113th
Congress.  This bipartisan effort would direct the FCC to extend the
"reasonable accommodation" provisions for Amateur Radio antennas to
include all types of land-use regulation, including deed restrictions
and restrictive covenants.

The Atlantic Division is sponsoring a webinar on HR 4969.  ARRL General
Counsel Chris Imlay W3KD and ARRL Hudson Division Director Mike Lisenco
N2YBB will talk about HR 4969 and what it mean for ARRL members and how
we can help effect its benefits.  This session will be moderated by ARRL
Atlantic Division Director Bill Edgar N3LLR.

This webinar will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 from 8:00pm to
9:30pm.  To join in, please register as soon as possible at this URL:
